Avila Science – Director of People & Talent Job Description
September 2024
About Avila Science
Avila Science, Inc. is a NYC-based pharmaceutical technology company transforming the treatment of early pregnancy loss (EPL). EPL is incredibly common, impacting 1.3M patients annually in the United States (and almost 20M patients worldwide every year), yet current treatment options are suboptimal.
Patients are either:
- Offered expectant management (“go home; it’ll take care of itself”),
- Offered a surgical procedure (in an operating room, with anesthesia, and billed to insurance at up to $10,000),
- Or, rarely, given a single dose of medication that is only effective 67% of the time.
We are developing a better way. Our two-step, medically-managed solution provides a comprehensive treatment for early pregnancy loss, combining a medication combo pack with an augmented intelligence (AI)-powered conversational agent to hold the patient’s hand through care.
